Human RIghts Training Weekend

Teddy's ready to go

Having been accepted there are numerous opportunities I’m looking forward to pursuing while in Cape Town and throughout the Western Cape. Needless to say, I am extremely excited about heading to Cape Town in general, but specifically I am most eager to spend time at the Christel House working with the students and talking with the teachers. I requested an internship in education because my main career goals are in education in developing regions, so this is an ideal opportunity for me to learn a lot.

Other than the internship I am most looking forward to all of the cultural activities I’ll be able to do with the other UConn and UCT students. I’m hoping to spend lots of time visiting restaurants, museums, art galleries, concerts, etc. I’m also very into road bike racing and have already signed up with UCT’s team - I am very eager to race with them!

Most importantly, though, I hope to One, finish the semester having made many friends in Cape Town and Two, will have grown more culturally aware.
